Congratulations Cafe Fashionista!…

Cafe Fashionista is the winner of Friday’s contest! I will be getting in touch with you and getting your information to send out. Thank you to all who applied! I will have another contest eventually so keep checking back for more.

Great news! I FINALLY ordered  a new computer so it is on its way. Thank goodness because this one loves to freeze and not want to do anything. Thats a big reason why my entries are so far apart, because it disagrees with wordpress sometimes. So that will be fixed by next week!

I also went on a much needed shopping trip to the mall with Z. I bought a new dress because I really needed a pick me up. No lie, it made my day! It makes me feel SO good! I got it at Anthropologie:

I really love it. I think I just might wear it today and see how far it gets me! I promise to put photos up of me all done up.

Also, I am offering Free Shipping to my etsy customers in the US! If you are interested please check it out and tell your friends!

XOXO, my friends!

My Etsy Store Debuts with a Contest!…

I literally didn’t sleep all night. That will teach me to drink coffee at 6:30pm. Luckily, I’m not really feeling affected by my lack of sleep. I still have energy and if I didn’t have to work in 2 1/2 hours I would go to the gym and then attempt a nap. But no… I am workin’ ALL day long.

On the plus side. I FINALLY got my etsy store up and running. YAY! I’ve been keeping you readers in the dark, and I am sorry about that. I’ve been nervous that I would fail miserably at this.  I love to make floral hair pieces. They are a fantastic as a stress killer, besides yoga. Each one is different and original, yes… like a snowflake. LOL.

I’ve been really wanting to hold a contest so here it is!

Here’s the game plan. Please write a comment on this entry telling me:

1) What your favorite floral piece is from my etsy site: TrendKat.etsy.com

2) What your favorite accessory to wear is…

3) Who your favorite Designer is…

4) And What your all time favorite blog to read is (I would love to read some new ones!)…

This contest will end at 12 midnight on Friday, October 2nd! The winner will be picked at randomly via a big baseball hat! Let’s hear those answers! :-)

The winner will receive one of my flower designs!

Soul Searching… The infamous question…

What’s a girl to do, Dear Readers? I have been thinking so much about what I want to do and where I want to end up in my life… I’ve been debating back and forth for a very long time. Design School or just start somewhere? How can I find what I want to do?

I LOVE designing. I love sketching and textiles. All of those objects interest me. I love traveling and am dying to get out of this country and discover new trends in new places. But how do I find a job like this? Oh the constant concern of survival… right?

I have had a little bit of time here and there. Mostly just trying to come up with some new and original ideas for my posts…. I haven’t been doing so well, if you couldn’t tell. Please excuse my lack in updates. I’m in desperate need of a new laptop. (Mine loves to die and refuse  to be resurrected) It’s mission number one on my list right now. Here are some of my outfits I wore this week, since I didn’t think to bring my camera out with me…

2009_09_27 I actually wore this to work today. Yay! All the girls make fun of me because I love to wear my flower creations that I make. I almost always have one in my hair or on my blouse.  If not a flower than a belt!

2009_09_27a Just like this one! I wore this about four days ago but I just cut off the skirt. It was floor length and then I cut it to the knees. I finished hemming it about an hour ago to above the knee and I love the result!

2009_09_27b I wore this dress two nights ago, out with my bestie Z! We traveled out to the wine bar looking very chic. Then we ventured to go and get some of the richest cheesecake ever at a cute little cafe downtown. Totally worth the trip. Those are my favorite oxfords in my wardrobe. I wore that flower headband on my head… but I quite like the look around the neck now that I’ve seen it on my Manni! :-)

Thanks for Reading!

All about sweaters!…

I have been feeling a lot better. I can go half a day without crashing, and I’m completely off of my pain pills. Stitches are still in and the mend is still in progress but I am going to be just fine! :-) Having no Gallbladder is quite a new experience. I can eat whatever I want now, pain free! It’s nice.

Okay. Obviously this entry is going to be about my love for sweaters. I felt so much better yesterday that I grinned and bared it at the mall even though its Labor Day Weekend… I did a quick stop after I saw this gorgeous sweater on the LOFT website.

Elbow Sleeve Cowl Neck

I took my 14 year old sister with me. She loved it so much that I bought her the same one but in the “Shaded Spruce” color. Lol. Check out their selection though. They have some great buys. They are a little pricey sometimes but their clothes last for years. (I’m not going to do my “investment” speech again, Ladies. Lol.)

Here are a few others:  (Anthrologie and Nordstroms)

The Big Kennith Cole Bag…

I am on the mend, which is awesome. I feel a lot better now that my stitches are healing up. In about a week I can start eating normally and get back to being my everyday active self. With that said I have a confession to make! I bought a GORGEOUS Kennith Cole bag the day before my flight out. I just wanted something to make myself feel a little bit better about this surgery. At the time I thought I was spending a fortune but I got it at the outlet malls for a mere $58.55! No joke. I was stressing about it all the way home but to be honest I’m quite happy with my purchase. It’s a fantastic bag and it’s an investment. It was originally $298.00. It got a huge bargain! That means I got it for about 80% off! It look like an mka bag. Observe:

It’s something I am going to use for years. So in short, I splurged. But I’m worth it. :-) And so are you. So if there is something out there that you’ve been dying for but a little too scared to purchase, think of the pros. I’m pretty sure they’ll out way the cons in the “fabulous” category.

Scared…

A lot of things of been going on in my life that just delay me from keeping up with this blog. It’s getting aggravating. I got sick three days ago but it wasn’t “I’m going to throw up” sick. I had some pain in my abdomen and I eventually listened to my Aunt (who is a Surgeon) and went to the Emergency Room… Yeah… Good thing I did because I now have to have my Gallbladder removed. I’ve been around hospitals forever. When My Aunt did her residency my mom would take my brother and I to go visit her all the time. I volunteered in the Diagnostic Imaging Center when I was in high school. I even thought I wanted to be a nurse for awhile. I like watching the nurses when they give me my shots or take my blood. I had to work with cadavers in my anatomy and phsyiology lab… but nothing ever made me think that someday someone would be cutting me open to remove one of my body organs. … All because I like Sharp cheddar cheese a little too much. *sigh*

So there it is. I leave for the airport in about two hours. I will try and blog here and there if I can, though I can’t imagine my wardrobe being to fantastic this week. :-)

Please wish me luck though, because honestly I’m pretty nervous.

On the Brighterside, here are some up and coming new fashions I found on Style.c0m. Welcome to Fall 2009:

A New Found Love for New Mexico…

Wow. Long story, making it quite short, I up and left for New Mexico unexpectedly! I spent a week with my Aunt who lives in the middle of know-where. It was wonderful. Though, dressing like I was in downtown New York or in my Bohemian decor was slightly out of the question. That sounds odd but she lives there because she is a government surgeon. There’s an incredible amount of poverty in her area so I stayed low on my journey through town. We ended up driving to Albuquerque. It took two nights but it was wonderful to experience all the little quaint/quiet/artsy towns in between. New Mexico is known for their wonderful Navajo art pieces, jewelry, and leather. I had a real eye opener.

First we stopped in Durango, Colorado. (Which, I would consider retiring there except there’s no close ocean.) This town was right in the hills, down in the valley. A cute little hippie/bohemian town where the college kids are anti-franchises (poor starbucks, left for the tourists) and love their own coffee shops. IMGP0665a IMGP0669

After we ventured to one of the most random-est towns! Chama, New Mexico. Lol… here’s their Mall… It’s across from the lumbar Train Station… (Enough Said)

Then we went to one of my favorite tourist location. Taos, New Mexico. We had a great evening meal of fresh made corn chips, salsa, and handmade (right in front of you) Guacamole. Needless to say I know how to make it now, it’s SO much easier than I imagined! We ate at Antonio’s and then ventured off to some wonderful galleries.

We drove to Albuquerque that night. Though I got some great shots in between!

Starbucks Influence on me… UGH!!!

Okay… I’m from Oregon. Just south of where one of the BIGGEST coffee franchises was created. However, throughout my entire life I have NEVER drank as many Tall Soy Vanilla Lattes in my life! I didn’t even drink this much coffee in College. Sometimes I’m so exhausted I will add another shot! (I sound like an addict confessing in class…)

I spent fifteen dollars worth of hard earned money at Starbucks this week… I’m curious to know if this is a repeated crime. If so… I spend approximately $60.oo there, a month! YEAH…. that’s a new pair of shoes! Or 15.4% of a DSquared2 Handbag!

That is SO frustrating that I don’t spend my money more wisely… but look at who I am under the influence of!!!:

I WISH I looked this good while drinking my Starbucks…

Along Came Long Cardigans…

I went out and bought a gorgeous long purple cardigan from work. I got home and I went into a panic because I didn’t think I could find anything to wear it with… I was wrong.
